Turning 40 does not mean it is time to slow down. It is the moment you realize you need an upgrade. Not your clothes, not your routine, but your operating system: your body.

Let’s be honest: we were raised to hold everything together — the house, the children, the work — but no one taught us how to hold ourselves. And here is the uncomfortable truth: you cannot lead from an exhausted body and a nervous system stuck in survival mode. Being tired all the time is not normal. It is your biology asking for help.

Your body is not failing you. It is trying to speak to you. After 40, the rules change. What worked at 25 — coffee, stress and surviving on little sleep — now comes at a cost. Hormones, cortisol, metabolism: everything is connected. And no, it is not “age.” It is a lack of information.

This is where biohacking comes in: learning to work with your body, not against it. Because your energy does not affect only you. It is felt at home, in your patience and in the way you respond or react to your children. They do not need a perfect mom. They need a regulated mom, a present mom, a mom with real energy.

Start today with the simplest hack, and it is free. If you want to reclaim your power and stop being an overwhelmed “modern cavewoman,” start by hacking your circadian rhythm. Before touching your phone tomorrow, go outside. Ten minutes. Natural light in your eyes. Natural light activates serotonin and resets your melatonin clock for the night.

It sounds basic, but it is one of the most powerful resets there is: it activates serotonin, which supports mood; regulates melatonin, which supports sleep; lowers inflammation; and tells your body, “we are safe.”

That changes everything, from how you sleep to how you handle a 7 p.m. meltdown. This is not wellness. This is strategy.

My story did not change because I worked harder. It changed when I understood how my body works. I went from surviving to having clarity, energy and focus. And that shows up in everything: money, decisions, presence.

This Mother’s Day, stop giving yourself things you do not need and start building something you do: your vitality. Because, in the end, the true legacy is not what you do for your children, but the energy with which you are present in their lives. Welcome to the After Party.
